Oil and gas
Aquatera has a 30 year pedigree in the oil and gas sector. Many of our team have worked internationally for decades in areas such as the North Sea, the Caspian, Sakhalin, Africa and South America.
Aquatera Director and Founder Gareth Davies began his career in the offshore oil and gas sector, and he was closely associated with the Institute of Offshore Engineering (IOE Group), a spin-out from Heriot-Watt University which was one of the world’s leading oil and gas research and consultancy and training centres through the 70s, 80s and 90s. He has developed this area of expertise within the company, and Aquatera's oil and gas team led or were deeply involved in many of IOE’s core initiatives.
These include pioneering work relating to EIA processes, seabed surveying, drill cuttings management, produced water management, chemical use and control, effectiveness of oil spill response, waste management, emissions control, risk assessment, pipeline integrity, and offshore evacuation techniques.
Since 2000 Aquatera has taken forward the legacy of innovation and excellence initiated by IOE. The geographical spread of our oil and gas experience is truly global, spanning over 20 countries and 5 continents. We have extensive experience in the North Sea, Irish Sea, Atlantic Margin, Caspian and Sakhalin, Africa and South America.
