Emma Delaney, BSc, PhD

Emma was a member of the Aquatera team from April 2022 until September 2024, as a key member of the GIS team and its use as applied for sustainable management, climate change mitigation solutions, suitability analysis and route optimisation.
Her background prior to joining the team was as a research assistant at Queen's University Belfast (QUB) where she was involved in the spatial analysis and GIS visualisation of SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) sequencing data for Northern Ireland. She completed her PhD at QUB in the area of GIS and wind energy, her research was focused on the development of a spatial framework to provide decision-support for the designing of location-specific circular economy repurposing strategies for End-of-Life wind turbine blades.
Emma has now returned to continue her academic journey at QUB, and will continue to support the GIS team as an associate.
