Graduate Interns

Aquatera has a number of Graduate Internship opportunities available.

We are a diverse organisation with a global reach.  We are involved in projects at the forefront of the renewable sector from biodiversity and sustainability to renewable energy and decarbonisation.  We offer our employees the opportunity to innovate and create to enable us to deliver results and solutions to our clients.

We are a flexible and adaptable organisation, with a genuine commitment to enabling our employees to reach their full potential.

About the role

Aquatera covers a broad range of projects across various disciplines. As an intern we would expect involvement to be varied across the company portfolio. Some new areas of business we are becoming involved in are:

  • Carbon modelling and energy auditing (decarbonisation, net zero planning and sustainability support services)
  • Environmental assessment and permitting (renewables and sustainable aquaculture development services)
  • Biodiversity enhancement and nature based solutions (renewables and enabling infrastructure development support services)
  • Environmental clerk of works and environmental management (renewables and enabling infrastructure development support services)
  • Data management and GIS (supporting renewables planning, permitting, management and design services)

The internships are fixed term for a three-month period but with the opportunity to extend this to six months for the right candidates.  It is also common for our interns to go on to long term jobs with the company.

We are looking for people who are based in or willing to base themselves in Orkney for the duration of the internship.

This position offers a salary based on Scottish Living Wage.

About you

We are looking for people who are self-motivated and with excellent team player skills, a creative approach to problem solving and a willingness to try new things and get involved. Skills and qualifications in a relevant discipline are essential, along with a keenness to learn and grow with us.
